Facetite/Bodytite

Facetite/Bodytite is a radiofrequency-based treatment designed to tighten skin without the long scars. It is fantastic for people who either do not want surgery or who want to avoid the scars, downtime, and cost of surgery.  It can be used in the face/neck to provide a minimally invasive or nonsurgical facelift.

Traditionally, tightening skin required excision of skin and long scars.  Plastic surgeons have done a great job hiding the scars in procedures like face lifts and abdominoplasties, but it still meant having a permanent scar. While being able to produce very dramatic results, the required scar was undesirable and a permanent, potentially poor looking scar was a deal-breaker for a lot of people. As a result, companies have been trying to perfect the best scarless skin tightening treatment to fill this need. Unfortunately, early technologies were plagued with problems and complications. There just were not enough safety measures in place to protect the patients from some of these devices.

Facetite/Bodytite is a skin tightening technology that delivers reliable results using radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin. The sheer number of safety measures that are built into this platform allow it to be performed safely, with very reliable results. To name a few, the device measures internal temperature, external temperature, total energy delivered, rates of temperature change, loss of conductivity, and has treatment cutoffs after target temperatures have been attained. All these safety measures allow the device to also deliver an extremely reliable and consistent treatment across all patients while keeping things safe.

Procedure

The length of treatment depends on the area, but the lower face/neck typically take 1-2 hours and can often be performed under local anesthesia.

Good candidates for this treatment are patients who desire a skin tightening procedure without the long scars of surgery. In general, this technology can deliver ~50-60% of what surgery can typically perform, but results will vary by patient.

Details

Facetite/Bodytite can be used just about anywhere to tighten skin.  Some areas respond better than others and it will vary on the quality of the skin.

The procedure requires the use of small 2mm incisions as access points. Through the access incisions, tumescent solution is injected to numb the area being treated. The radiofrequency energy is then delivered via a handpiece and then liposuction is performed to remove the liquified fat.

Recovery typically involves restricting vigorous activity and wearing a compression garment for up to 4 weeks.
