Otoplasty for men is treated very similar to otoplasty in women. Please see our Otoplasty page for general information.
Having a prominent ear deformity affects men and women equally. Adults that desire otoplasty often have been concerned with their ears since childhood and have often been teased in school growing up. There are no anatomic or aesthetic differences between men and women when it comes to ears. The correction is performed the same way with the same techniques. The only difference comes in the recovery where women tend to get themselves a headband for postoperative compression, while men tend to choose a beanie. They both do an equally good job at providing compression after surgery, and it is purely personal preference whether a patient chooses a headband or a beanie.
