Medial thigh lift surgery involves tightening and improving the contour of the inner and upper thighs. In general, this is the first place that patients can develop excess skin and laxity. Oftentimes, patients are bothered when their inner thighs rub when walking. While some patients can benefit from liposuction alone, many other patients require skin removal with a medial thigh lift.
This procedure takes 2-4 hours under a sedation anesthesia.
Medial thigh lift involves removing fat and skin from the inner area of the thighs. It requires a scar on the inner aspect of the thighs and extends down towards knee. How far the scar needs to come down depends on how much excess skin needs to be removed. While this scar is on the inner part of the thighs, it can be visible in certain positions, so patients need to accept the scar before considering this procedure.
The most ideal candidates are those with a mild or moderate amount of fat on their thighs. Patients with excessive amounts of fat on their thighs typically benefit less from a medial thigh lift.
Recovery from a medial thigh lift usually involves 1 week off from work or school. Pain is mild to moderate and most patients stop taking their prescription pain medications after a few days. Dr. Lee will ask that you wear a compressive garment for 4 weeks.
