Ideal Candidates for Chin Augmentation
A good candidate for this procedure is a patient with a small chin. Since the chin makes up a large portion of the lower third of the face, it has significant impact to the overall facial appearance and harmony. A small change in someone’s chin can make a significant impact to their overall facial appearance, symmetry, and proportions.
If you take a picture of your face from the side, your upper lip, lower lip, and chin should be along the same line. If it is not, your may have a small chin and may benefit from chin augmentation. People with a prominent nose, a recessed chin, or a squared or pointed chin may be ideal candidates for this procedure as well.
However, individuals in poor health, those who have suffered from hypertension or heart problems, and those who take anticoagulants may not be ideal candidates for chin enhancement. Those who have unrealistic expectations or have taken Accutane in the past six months are not good candidates for the surgery.
